Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Also, I'm startled by the number of people saying "But how will I violate copyright now??" with some sort of air of innocence, like they were owed free TV somehow.

It's the young generation that tends to think that.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I pick up Jojoba oil at Trader Joe's sometimes - a little bottle lasts me a long time so I haven't done it recently, but it seems to me they had a nice low price.

Eta: but when I look at the bottle I have now, it's Desert Essence.

GRRRRR. I applied for a position at a company an ex-manager works at. It's basically doing what I was doing before I took my current position. He pointed out that it's a hard job, but if I was interested, he totally thought it would work. I sent in my resume, someone emailed me to set up a phone interview...and the woman on the phone interview was basically like "Well, are you currently doing X, Y, and Z (kind of presentations)?" and I was like "Um, no, not in my current job. But in my previous positions, I did X, Y, and although I didn't do Z, I was on the other side of it, and have seen and critiqued a number of them. Note that in the position, I STILL wouldn't be doing Z, but would be present for it. Maybe doing a small portion of it. She was like "Well, I'm sorry, that's not good enough. We only hire people with experience with X, Y, and Z, or internal candidates. You could apply for (my current job) and hope to get the position later". I was like "Do your people in (my current job) do X, Y, and Z??" (NOBODY in my current job does X, Y, and Z), and she was like 'Well, sometimes. Maybe." GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

So I emailed ex manager and was like "Thanks, but no thanks, don't want to take the same job I have and hope for an opening some years in the future, they don't seem to think I"m qualified" (I might as well do that at my CURRENT job, where I already have years in and people who think I'm awesome!). Hrmph.

than complaining about the loss of a tool for legal filesharing

I don't have a legal filesharing tool. At least not at work. If I need to send someone a file larger than 5MB, I have to burn a CD.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I am pretty loyal to Proactive. I've tried other things, but they don't keep the acne at bay like Proactive does. And, yes, I am 44 and still have acne-prone skin. I like to think that means I won't get dry skin and wrinkles.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I have acne and wrinkles, which I consider totally unfair.

That *is* totally unfair.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That sounds stupid, meara. Interviewing is the worst.

For my part, I missed the call I was supposed to have at 4 (was stuck in a meeting until 4:10) and haven't heard back about rescheduling. ARGH. I would be more concerned if she hadn't canceled on me last week for similar reasons....

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I promised myself I would focus on work today and get a lot done since last week was so not-work focused, but no one is asking me to do anything interesting, so all I have left is time sheets and evaluations and gross stuff like that, and I DON'T WANNA

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Shit. Time sheets. I definitely have to do those today.

Thanks for the reminder, Lee. The popup alerts were totally not doing it.
