Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That sounds stupid, meara. Interviewing is the worst.

For my part, I missed the call I was supposed to have at 4 (was stuck in a meeting until 4:10) and haven't heard back about rescheduling. ARGH. I would be more concerned if she hadn't canceled on me last week for similar reasons....

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I promised myself I would focus on work today and get a lot done since last week was so not-work focused, but no one is asking me to do anything interesting, so all I have left is time sheets and evaluations and gross stuff like that, and I DON'T WANNA

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Shit. Time sheets. I definitely have to do those today.

Thanks for the reminder, Lee. The popup alerts were totally not doing it.

I didn't do mine last week because I took the day off/worked from home the day they were due because of Perkins, so now they are twice as gross.

I didn't do mine because I'm a slackery slacker. I have no good reasons. I just suck. I'm good with just about every deadline except that one, strangely. Even the other boring ones.

Well, technically they should have been done before them, but they weren't, because I suck and put them off.

Well, fooey. They're not sending us home at 2 after all, because the protest & march are supposed to leave the area by 3 or so.

hip deep in pie

I was just writing a post to complain that I called my mortgage company today and they hadn't returned my call, when they called. I was calling to see if they could give me a better rate on renewing than they had offered me. The consultant had to put me on hold for a couple of minutes. The hold music, I swear, was a jazz version of Pink Floyd's Money.

The good news is that they matched the rate the broker offered me. Now I'm left wondering if I could have got even better. Anyway it's still not as good as the sweet, sweet rate I have now.

I don't have a legal filesharing tool. At least not at work. If I need to send someone a file larger than 5MB, I have to burn a CD.

Consuela, have you tried yousendit.com? That's what I use at work when we don't want to use either our or a client company's FTP site. I think the free accounts have a limit well above 5MB per upload, and 2GB total if I'm remembering correctly from before we went the paid option.
