YAY MSBELLE'S JOB!
YAY SCRAPPY'S PUPPY!
Question for people who are into the internet, professionally: If I'm giving out URLs on paper, is it better to have a logical address or a shorter address? Example: qwerty.org/project/topic-name-in-words OR q.org/1r6yf
Woo hoo! Congratulations on New Puppy!
I'd go for logical address, since it tells people where they're going. If you're in charge of the URLs, you can make the logical name short and descriptive.
Jesse, what about a QR code?
But I would go logical address as long as it's not all cluttered up with coding.
msbelle, sounds like you finally found a gig that appreciates your msbelle-ness. WOO-HOOO!!
Also,
PUPPY!!
Jesse, human-readable URL -- shortened ones are extremely prone to typos, even when they're being given out on computers rather than paper. And something clear and descriptive is not only more memorable, but helps with the whole trust/I know what I'm getting thing.
That's fantastic, msbelle! Congratulations!
Scrappy!Puppy. Awwww, Chet sounds like a love. I'm so happy for you and J.
When designing the URL, Jesse, check and see if your web server is case-sensitive, and if it is, don't fuck around with too much capitalisation.
