The rescue/emergency command center is set up just a couple blocks from them, which is how close it was. A fatality less than a mile away, near a lake they go to a lot.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Too close. It looks bad, and they won't know the full extent until there's more daylight and they can clear the roads.

Art Crawl!!!

Wow.

Yeah - weather is freaky. Freakishly warm here in IL. . . meaning that it will be icy tonight just thwarting my plans to run errands after work.

ION, Rachel Alexandra and Curlin had a lovely bay colt yesterday. Look at his lovely spidery star. (Mom has a star and a streak - Daddy has a blaze.)

ION - miniature embroidery that you can wear.

I saw an article in Knit magazine (a British knitting magazine) about the woman who does the teeny tiny knitting. She has insane Christmas sweaters that would be tinier than your finger. There was a picture of several - like half a dozen sweaters all spread out across a finger.

Just nutty.

I think I might be able to drive later today (fog and rain certainly won't help the eyestrain issue, so hopefully will go away!) And I'm up to 10 minute stretches of reading. As long as I don't reopen the injury with a bad blink.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just had the urge to write a recommendation for my manager on LinkedIn. I'm beginning to worry I'm a reflexive ass-kisser. However, I totally won't write one until my evaluation is complete.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

The first thing I see when I come in to work today? The binders that my co-worker was trying to push me into working late to finish last week sitting on a table, unshipped. So it was vitally important that I have them printed and ready to ship out by EOD Thursday, but not important that she actually ship them to the recipients. @@ ∞

Now tagless for your comfort.

sumi, I saw an interview with the woman who did all the teeny tiny knitting for Coraline. So awesome!
