Jesus, changing light bulbs should not be this difficult, but getting at the one in my closet required the big ladder and, like, holding a wildly difficult yoga position.

Ah, now we're at the properly weepy part of the movie. Between the immigrant culture and the women's sports, it's pretty much a slam dunk.
I think the movie walks a really good line having Jess be a good daughter, respectful of tradition, and wanting things outside of her prescribed boundaries.
Ugh. I think the running is soon.
I'm not a huge football expert, but Keira and Parminder look really handy with the ball.
The appliance bulbs over our stove are like that. To really be in the right position, you'd have to lie ON the stove to do it. And since you can't, because Sara is really the only one who would fit the way it's situated on the counter, the bulb broke off in the socket when S. tried to change it. Good times.
sara, would it help to wear a patch, so you wouldn't blink so much? I still can't believe what running into a plant did to your eye! Household accidents, dude.

Yeah, I thought so, too.

IIRC, they do pretty darn well.
I haven't seen that movie in so long, but I loved it. Kiera's mom was so hysterically wrong and yet well-meaning. And I love Parminder.
I forgot the movie ended with an Indian rendition of Feeling Hot Hot Hot, old women in saris playing footie, and John Barnes (my mother tried to set us up when I was a teenager, since we're friends of the family, but I was all "Ew! Professional athlete cooties!" Yeah, I dunno either), which set off the waterworks again.
But I think I'm good with crying for the evening.
I did some reading up about the trivia for the movie, and I hadn't realised the scar (and the explanation) is really Parminder's. I had wondered what its point was in the story. Instead, it was a reason Parminder thought she wouldn't get the role.
That was really sweet. I should buy it.
I thought Keira Knightley was really charming in that movie. Before she got all famous and shit.

Yeah...it was really charming through and through. I love seeing Archie play a traditional Indian, with the dancing and the glayvin. It's so unlike Kalinda.
(Postit-patching post): I ran my eye into a dead, pokey plant in the dark. Corneal abrasions hurt like fuck. I am reminded I am not being a total wuss by my dad (who had a lot of sympathy and advice for me) because when I was 2? I kicked him in the eye and left a bit of toenail in there. In a campground. At night. Stuff of legends, all right. His was also deemed a minor corneal abrasion after they took the toenail out. And told me I'd be lucky if I felt back at 100% in 3 days as the dr suggested. It took him longer
I was told specifically that for this level of injury to not patch, except during sleep if I wanted to, for comfort Just that, as fucking painful as it is, the blinking is good, the irritation actually promotes eyeball healing as it flushes shit and giggles. Or something like that.
No bad blinks in the past hour=good.
eta: new criteria for borrowing movies. No crying. That makes this worse.
sara is not supposed to wear a patch. arrgggg, would be fun right?
Well, I didn't watch the movie, I will watch it tomorrow, but I did get 4 things of the DVR. Now I will catch the end of this game.
I have a nice neat pile of neatly labeled files. Drawer 2 will be tomorrow.
