"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I was unable to find a shower curtain I'm really crazy about that didn't cost an arm and a leg, but browsing around at Target I did find this, which is at least quirky and goes with the decor and exposed brick in my bathroom.

OMG, when Sam Worthington says "Today is the day everything changes" I'm totally reminded of someone interesting saying something much like that. Who is it? Help my mouldering brain!

Jack Harkness in the Torchwood pilot? I can see how he might not immediately come to mind in connection with Sam Worthinzzzzzzz...

Art Crawl!!!

I'm failing in motivating. I really don't want to go out and see who has cleaned their sidewalks. I'm choosing to lounge.

Also: I don't believe that my landlord has cleaned the walk or the stoop of my building yet.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

bon bon, recipe, por favor?

It's from the CI slow cooker book, which I recommend. I would type it in if I weren't leaving the house in 2 minutes.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

YES. Thank you, Matt. I will have to track the Torchwood opening bit down and properly rewire my brain. I swear to god, Worthington. If you have any talent, so far, you're doing an ace job of hiding it.

I just spent half an hour fiddling around in my cables closet. No, I only have one digital audio cable. I've decided to separate out all the seriously?? cables from the bunch, but I still have a bunch of crap I'll never use that I'm keeping. All those *other* format of USB? I have about ten of those. Two devices that use them, and ten cables. I'm not sure where I accumulated those from.

But, dammit, I don't know if my audio bar is broken, or if it's my TV, or the cable. And I don't have the energy to go back to the store today.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, I like that shower curtain!

Jesse, that pic cracks me up, because everyone (but the kids) is drinking Michelob

Seriously, every detail in that picture is classic.

Cookies are done, laundry is in the dryer! Hooray.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Must clean house. Really. My butt seems to be stuck to the comfy chair.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My slow-cooker carnitas are:

Rub a pork putt with whatever carnitas-type spices you like (chili powder, cumin, salt, anything else that strikes your fancy), let sit overnight in the fridge.

Put the pork butt in the crock pot, dump a jar of salsa verde over it. Cook forever. (8+ hours)

Before serving, crank up the broiler on high. Pull the pork butt and spread it out on a sheet pan. Put it under the boiler and let it get crispy. NOMS.

Survived Dylan's G&T testing this afternoon. Feel like I'm going to need a few G&Ts to get through a snowed-in weekend with these kids.

Somehow I let Dylan talk me into putting in Phantom Menace. I knew it was bad, but I'd honestly blocked out just how bad.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Busy day here so far. I have an internet connection, a new television system I need to figure out, a working refrigerator (-t and Juliana, it fit!), a washing machine that was installed, a dryer that wasn't but will hopefully be soon, the gardener came and mowed my lawn, and the alarm company is making a second attempt at installing the security system. Once that is done, I need to make a grocery store run, but after that, I don't think I am doing anything, except maybe a little unpacking.

Yay! And I think all of us who have moved understand that the internet is the most important.
