I admit, it is kinda freaking me out. The face looks a little too human.

I really think everyone who keeps saying that health care reform will lead to bureaucrats control medical decisions has never really been sick or had to deal with any of this.

Yeah, my sleep doctor wants me to be able to take 1mg to go to sleep, and one more mg in case I wake up in the middle of the night. Insurance wasn't having any of it.

And literally every month when he has to refill his Ritalin, he has to drive to his doctor's office to get a hand-written prescription on paper, because he can't call in a refill, and the doctor can't do it electronically. Every single goddamn month.

Welcome to my methadone world. And my doctor didn't even have the politeness to apologise. I explained to them I was working from home for three days partially in the hope that they'd respond in a timely fashion *before* I ran out, so I could go to the office during work hours and pick up the script, but, no I get a call Friday saying "You have until 6! Good luck with that!" and so I had to leave work early. Nah, I had nothing else to do.

Third refill so far, and they still can't remotely get on the ball. My other...nah, I'm about to go off on them again, and I'm tired of saying it, so y'all must be skimming by now.

This is us for Em's meds. It's so damn frustrating.

Are the companies only doing this with mental illness meds, because that goes back to the "isn't really a sickness" train of thought, which also sucks. I mean, would they for example, ask someone to pay for extra insulin or blood pressure meds?

Nope. Grace is on Xoponex which is non-formulary and therefore buttall expensive. Both insurances WILL cover it together, but only a 2 month supply and she cannot be refilled until 3 months have passed.

We can and do substitute albuterol. But the difference is albuterol makes her tachycardiac and is not as effective.

We also get Xoponex inhalers which work for 4 hours but not 8. We could get enough inhalant and then nebulized solution for her to make it a month, but not night time stuff.

Also, her Singulair comes in pill form which they will pay for and granule which can actually go through her tube which requires the use of both insurances to work.

We're blessed that we have a light med regimen.

Ok-- I am not even sure how I did this, but I just lost 2 of the heating elements for my stove while cleaning the burner pans. I threw one out because it was broken and left one by the stove. They are not in the oven, in the cupboard next to the oven or in the garbage. What the heck!?!

And I found them. They must have fallen in when I lifted up the top of the stove and they were in the part of the stove underneath the burner area. Since I am cooking something, it is pretty hard to get them out.
