I will admit I did not have the patients to read the hieroglyph things in wikepedia, so thank you. They seem so different than the pronunciation guides in dictionaries when I was growing up.

ION, whining: I had emergency dental work today. I cracked a tooth last week, and had it removed today. I've never been through this before, I hate the feeling of the gauze in my mouth, and I'm paranoid I'll do something wrong with the aftercare. WHINING.

You'll heal fine. Just follow their instructions and enjoy the narcotics. (I know, I loathe the gauze feeling too.) And call them if you have questions. They are likely more than used to it and you won't spiral stress.
