Gwen: Demon, OK? The whole nine—cloven feet and horns and teeth. He wasn't wearing lamé though. Lorne: Yeah, the evil ones can't pull it off. It gets camp.

'Harm's Way'

Natter 69: Practically names itself.

brillig

I was reading Mark Re-Reads Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets. He was talking about how delighted he was at the final feast when Slytherin had their win taken away. I was horrified at that part and I nearly threw the book across the room, and the takeaway thought I had was "Favoritism is great when it's for the people you like." Yeah, OK, shout out to the Trio for saving the day, sure, but to set up everything for Slytherin, than yank it away and dance in their faces? Not done.

And I keep being surprised at how shocked Mark is when grown-ups are flawed and let people down. I wonder if it's a function of me being twice his age and jaded, or am I just that cynical anymore?

hip deep in pie

This afternoon I ate an enormous croissant and then went for a long walk to balance it out. I saw a Newfoundland Dog on my walk and was very tempted to dognap.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I am accomplishing nothing today so far. Watching reruns of Destination Truth and reading fanfic I've read before. At least the eggs I'm about to eat are new.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Perkins? do you need direction today?

Yes! but not until later this afternoon. This morning has been errands and cleaning and some shredding, and Juliana is showing up soon for a home depot run and then I/we come back here to pack.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

You have to have several corgis together, like the Queen, right??

Yes! Because then in an emergency they can combine into the one mega-corgi, CORGITRON.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Shredded! Phew.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I am being super lazy. Still in pjs, back in bed with dog. Need to get up, get dressed, plan menus for week, pay bills, go to the pharmacy...

But Frankie just grabbed my arm with his paws and pressed his forehead to it. DAWWW.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, I did also apply for that job this morning, with a half-assedly updated resume.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I woke up early with the kids today, took D to swim class (not surprisingly after 2 weeks off, the kids were flailing around and acting silly but towards the end of class they seemed to have remembered most of what they'd learned before Christmas), came home, fed everyone, then biked to the playground with A, came home and am now finally vegging out on the couch with some much needed tea.

Kidless folks, treasure your weekends. (Kidless folks who eventually plan to have kids? TREASURE THEM EVEN MORE.)
