sigh. I need direction today, except really I know what I need to do. Take down tree, finish syllabi, grocery shopping. Buy coffee. Not necessarily in that order.
But Tim gets actual, for-real depressed if he doesn't get snow in winter. So I'd be willing to have one good snowfall just so he doesn't mope.
I have to admit, we were pretty happy about it. They had a total of about three feet while we were gone, and we were thinking we might have missed most of the winter's snow. But this snowfall was completely unpredicted by the meteorologists (although the weather station hanging on my wall correctly forecast it) so I have no idea how much to expect. Probably got about four to six inches already and it's still coming down. Little sun peeking out now.
I am doing pretty good with productivity this morning, but I'm getting ready to go sit in front of the football with some knitting. Perfectly cromulent snowed-in activity. Although technically we're not snowed in, because the SO took the Pilot to town and it worked fine. Which is so awesome, because I really would have previously regarded this as stuck weather. Yay new car!
I haven't done a damn thing all day. Oops. Eh.
I wish sumi, I wish.
Burrell, can the kids help with the tree? When I had a fully decorated tree I would ask mac to help me find all of one type of ornaments at a time and box by box it would get done pretty quickly. He'd find and remove them, I'd wrap them and get them to fit in the storage boxes.
Pretty sure you are one your own for the syllabi, and I would think coffee is needed before that. But maybe Cody wants nothing more than to go grocery shopping (you can tell him I am laughing for him here).
Man I miss y'all.
Jesse, for pete's sake, SHRED WOMAN!!
OMG, I FORGOT. Jesus.
oh msbelle, you truly are wonderful.
I am wasting time in the most inexplicable of ways. Reading--I kid you not--a Snarry fic with an mpreg storyline, written by an old grad school friend of mine who is now a tenured professor. eep.
I'm just going to rest my brain in here for a moment. Someone post links to nice things?
I was reading Mark Re-Reads Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets. He was talking about how delighted he was at the final feast when Slytherin had their win taken away. I was horrified at that part and I nearly threw the book across the room, and the takeaway thought I had was "Favoritism is great when it's for the people you like." Yeah, OK, shout out to the Trio for saving the day, sure, but to set up everything for Slytherin, than yank it away and dance in their faces? Not done.
And I keep being surprised at how shocked Mark is when grown-ups are flawed and let people down. I wonder if it's a function of me being twice his age and jaded, or am I just that cynical anymore?
