I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

That's where I saw Hanne Blank's virginity book! I knew it sounded familiar. It was in a stack of books in your guest room, Kate! Anyway, sarameg, this latest book looks really interesting, and I think I might get it.

eta: continued ~ma for your sister, Cashmere.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Ha! Yes, one of the many, many unread books piling up around our house. Hey, speaking of our guest room, is there any chance you will be making use of it any time soon?

Cash, I meant to say earlier that I'm sending the ~ma to your sister. Please keep us posted.

I meant to email you! I have been very remiss about that, lately.

I don't think I'm going to make it in Jan. (sad emoticon) The holidays left me a little broke-er than I expected, and what with my new determination to get a car. (RESOLVE FACE!)

Would it be too presumptuous for me to come after the baby is born? I would wait until it's a convenient time for you/when there aren't other people visiting. But I would love to meet the baby! And be helpful rather than a burden! And we could also talk about this over email (which I clearly suck at) rather than here. Um.

Heh, I also suck at email these days, which is why I'm posting to you here instead! Sorry, everyone else. Anyone, I'm sorry we won't get to see you this month, but after the baby comes is totally fine. We'll probably take a couple of trips over the summer, so it might be a while before I know when the best time would be, but we would definitely love to have you visit and meet the baby! (Also, I support the new car plan!)

ION, I have one cat on my lap, and the other just jumped up to sit briefly on my legs, which are stretched out on the coffee table. A sweet moment, but sort of hard on the knees.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Aw, Cashmere, best of luck to your sister and the baby.

Yay, we will plan a visit!

Whoa, Kate, I just had a memory: remember the last time I was determined to get a car? I was up visiting you in Northampton. (Not the last time, three years ago, but before that...I don't remember the year. Do you know when it was? I can't place it.) I made you watch the first two seasons of SPN and you made me watch a bunch of SGA, and was that when your roommate had the prairie dog? Now I'm all confused. Anyway, I was talking about how I hadn't had a seizure in a year and a half, and then I had a seizure in your apt.

Sigh. Now I'm getting all superstitious. But I shouldn't. Things are much more stable under my NYU neuro. I love him. Also, I should keep a diary, because I clearly can't remember anything.

ION, I just got a notification from Pinterest that I'm following myself. I checked, and it's not a namesake, it's me. What am I up to? Or, Pinterest, what are you up to?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm supposed to move out of this apartment in 13 days. I'm not sure even msbelle could make that happen at this point.

Punishingly Intricate

Good thoughts for your sister & baby, Cashmere.

It's crazy nice weather here! We are going to go for a bike ride!

And I got all the root vegetables at the market and a roasting chicken defrosting now. Tomorrow night roast chicken and root vegetables a la Ad Hoc at Home!
