"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I wandered around downtown Chicago with my mom today, and we went to the Art Institute. I discovered that admission to the Art Institute of Chicago is free to Illinois residents every weekday from now until February 10.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Ooh, good tip.

Also, to be blunt, no dog until Perkins the cat dies, and neither of us are in any hurry for that to happen.

The only reason I've managed to stave off adopting another dog is the dead cat clause.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

The only reason I've managed to stave off adopting another dog is the dead cat clause.

Same here, and little miss Coco was a close call regardless.

Accidentally posted this in Bitches a few minutes ago, but clearly more topical here:

Darby's new favorite dog treats kind of freak me out. I couldn't figure out why until I looked at the ingredient list - chicken breast and glycerin - and it hit me. They look exactly like those Bodyworlds exhibits.

Great. Now now I have to worry that both animals are plotting to kill me and eat me.

I had that clause. Look how that didn't work out and ended up being the best possible outcome. t /enabler

Got a really nice card from my vet today, signed by all the staff and vets, with kind notes. One in particular wrote "Mister Kitty was such a sweet guy. I really enjoyed working with him through the years-he will truly be missed." Dawwww! I really should send them a card with pictures when I pay his final bill.

Speaking of which, the Pumpkin followed me upstairs to the bathroom (she has an unnatural fascination with toilet flushes and is eternally hopeful. Please don't show her the youtubes of cats flushing toilets, thx!)

Loki started yowling downstairs, sitting in the middle of the livingroom. He was bereft that his girlfriend had forsaken him.

These two are priceless together. And just as demanding of me and annoying as they were separately.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Note to Lee: Beware having sarameg's mom visit. She'll name any strays you rescue and then you've got a new pet!

Dawwww! I really should send them a card with pictures when I pay his final bill.

I think that's a lovely thought.

Selfishly, I want his picture on their picture walls.

That is AWESOME, Gud.

It's also true.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have to admit, the dead cat clause seemed much more reasonable when I thought it was imminent, and I didn't have a house yet.
