I had that clause. Look how that didn't work out and ended up being the best possible outcome.

Got a really nice card from my vet today, signed by all the staff and vets, with kind notes. One in particular wrote "Mister Kitty was such a sweet guy. I really enjoyed working with him through the years-he will truly be missed." Dawwww! I really should send them a card with pictures when I pay his final bill.
Speaking of which, the Pumpkin followed me upstairs to the bathroom (she has an unnatural fascination with toilet flushes and is eternally hopeful. Please don't show her the youtubes of cats flushing toilets, thx!)
Loki started yowling downstairs, sitting in the middle of the livingroom. He was bereft that his girlfriend had forsaken him.
These two are priceless together. And just as demanding of me and annoying as they were separately.
Note to Lee: Beware having sarameg's mom visit. She'll name any strays you rescue and then you've got a new pet!

I think that's a lovely thought.
Selfishly, I want his picture on their picture walls.
I have to admit, the dead cat clause seemed much more reasonable when I thought it was imminent, and I didn't have a house yet.

That's really not high on the selfishnessometer.
In theory, I would love to get a dog, but in practice, I think I need to start with a cat. To be frank, I'm not used to caring for beings other than myself 24/7, and I'm sometimes not so good at even just that. Dogs can't pee and/or poop inside if I'm late getting home... or, might just have to, and then I would feel so guilty. And I need to be able to afford a pet; there's that, too.
Paul, Perry and Santorum are all at 23% with 34% of the caucuses reporting.
And I do not think that's selfish at all, sarameg.
