Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but gray.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The trunk of the car is not obscured from view, which I discovered yesterday as I *tried* to put my laptop into it, but I was distracted when I got out of my car when I got home--my arms were full up with groceries, and I forgot to go back down for the laptop.

Not until I was about to go to the movies this morning did I even think about it.

There's so much irreplacable information on that thing. No, backing up PCs is not company policy, and I hadn't "gotten around" to archiving and backing up my locally saved emails yet, despite just having discussed it with the security team, since I found out it was a necessity just a few weeks ago.

Police report made, now on hold with insurance again, then back to Enterprise to get a different $70/day car, and then try to work out if I know the work help desk number to report it.

Ha. I'm just trying to act like a grownup and not cry in front of people, but I am also just realising that the exorbitant insurance premium I pay doesn't cover items in the car, but at least I know my policy covers rentals. So I'm probably liable to work for the cost of the thing too.

information libertarian

If you have homeowners/renters insurance, it generally covers items stolen from your car.
