Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

She says that Ree was a "soc" - something I only understood because I read The Outsiders. Apparently, Oklahomans really do say that.

How do you pronounce it? I have always wondered.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

so, have you all heard of turtle calls?

This is really weird.

Our wings are not tired.

Sophia, I've heard it pronounced like you're saying "social" but you stop after first syllable.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

"sowsh". Though that could be "sow". How about "sewsh"? No, that looks like "sewer". So like "so", with a "sh."

Well, now I have to go see who Ree Drummond is!

Happy Anniversary to you and S, Amy!! Brakes and food; sounds like a plan to me. Brakes first. They will come in handy on the way to food.

Soooo... we're back in the hospital with mi madre. She was severely short of breath this morning. They're doing tests. Chest x-ray showed nothing, but a blood test did show something -- I missed part of it, so I'm not sure what it showed; they are doing a CAT scan now to see if it is a blood clot in the lung. Scary. Well, they will be. First she had to get a combination of anti-allergy to the iodine dye, because she had a reaction to it a couple decades ago, so they're waiting.

~ma for the Ma is appreciated.

And now I will attempt to distract myself here and elsewhere.

ETA: I also only know about "soc" from The Outsiders, but I had no idea it was still in use!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Soc was a term in my California high school in the 70s.

Thank you. I am not sure what Drummond could be lying about at this point, assuming those are her kids, husband and dog. She doesn't write the home school posts herself, and I feel like most of the other posts are giveaways or photo contests. And I guess I always assumed she really didn't get up and do ranching stuff or anything.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Ha, I can totally picture Ree Drummond as a soc. I have a coworker who is mildly obsessed with her (somewhat, but not entirely, ironically), and our magazine actually flew her to OK last year to interview her. Apparently she was very nice, FWIW, though I imagine she turns on the charm like whoa for any media exposure.

We are having such a nice, relaxed day, just hanging out and getting stuff done around the house. And there are three more days of weekend after this one!! Seriously, this is better than Christmas was last weekend.
