The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Merry Christmas to all that celebrate!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

About to go spend the day at the movies. We are seeing four this year--so it should be a long but fun day. I wish a merry, happy and joyous day to all Buffistas, not because it's Xmas, but because I love you all.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Merry Christmas, all what celebrates!

We're (by we, I mean myself, my son and my d-i-l) are about to head over to my daughter's for Christmas brunch. There will be breakfast foods galore, egg nog and two pounds of peel and eat shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce. Yum. Before we leave, though, we have to stuff four bags and a couple large boxes of presents into the trunk of my car. Damn, it didn't seem like I bought that much when I was shopping! I think the presents got up to hijinks in the closet I had them stashed away in.

I'm jealous of your four movies. especially inLA! Here in Indy some of the best stuff is not yet out. And my mother is insisting on brunch (at noon!) AND dinner, so my sister and I, who usually see two or three movies, only have time for ONE. We are displeased.

On a similar note, my BFF is going to be about two hours away on Wednesday, so my sister (who also likes her) and I are driving to meet up with her and her gf. My mom is all "oh, you're going where? Maybe I'll come with!" I do not want to spend four hours in a car with my mother. What can we say to her that is not super hurtful? (I believe her plan would be to drop her off at a friends house and then come pick her up. But it would end up being all about what works for her).

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Not that I disagree with the basic message, but maybe denouncing "superficial glitter" for the holidays would be less hypocritical if done without benefit of the gold-embroidered hat, robes, and the über bling-y gilded staff? Pope Urges People to Look Beyond "Superficial Glitter"

Merry Christmas to those christmassing!

Happy Movie Day to others! (I would love a movie Xmas some day.)

I am cooking turkey dinner for the family for the first time. I woudl say my family's confidence in my turkey skills is low. Both my sisters have called to check in already. (And I thought I was going have to punch my sister in the face last night if she gave me anymore "advice.")

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Merry Christmas to those that celebrate, Happy Sunday to those that don't!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Off to the Xmas brunch at the Old Ladies' Penitentiary soon. I'm spending my day Making Mom Happy, which is probably the best present I can give her.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

You're a good daughter, Theo. And you have a good brother, Tep.

There're gale-force gusts out there, so we're hunkering by the (dvd on the flatscreen) fire, listening to a random collection of Christmas and esoteric holiday cds found in a box while looking for something else, and smelling the Christmas ham. H is speaking Ukrainian with his mom on the phone, and the kids will call later sometime today. Neighbors drift by as the mood takes them.

H has football this evening, which has seriously screwed our recent tradtion of viewing extended version LotR trilogy. We may do that tomorrow. Or Wednesday. Till then there's excellent coffee, and Yuletide. ::raises mug:: Merry Happy, all of you.
