Gosling is really just... I love his interpretation of the two kids in his class when he has to share the shorter bar, "You're old, you're not good, I've seen you in movies, and it's just weird. Why are you here?"

Totally. I watched that video twice this morning.
I recall hearing about a month after Obama's election in 2008 that he was going to close Guantanomo (sp?) Bay. I was so thrilled to hear this that I just about cried real tears - which for my ass would be a big thing.
Then when it did not close and with all of the subsequent actions that support the unitary executive and indefinite detention, I'm just kind of numb.
In policy and perspective, Obama is what we once thought of as a moderate Republican. Which 1) shows how extreme the GOP party has become; and 2) is still a bit too right for me.
I will not sit out the election because while I am quite a bit left of Obama, a Gingrich (or Romney) White House would be disastrous. Their tax policies alone would fuck us up.
It's not a movie, and not precisely holiday-ish, but it's lovely and I wanted to share. A Fred and Ginger vid, Identical Snowflakes. Best present so far this year!

I haven't gone over to Boxed Set since I got really behind on Doctor Who and Torchwood, but I figured it was okay to post this story here about a Doctor Who fangirl who is a great representation of the online geek fan overall. The reporter does a good job of reproducing her speaking style, which is stereotypically teenage girl.
