Where'd they get CAT scan from?... I mean, did they test it on cats? Or does the machine sort of look like a cat?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't want anyone telling me that I have to OR that I can't

Who said you have to? Is that about the gesture of solidarity, or the beauty ideal? I mean, it's not like Spirit Day said you have to wear purple.

I said is that I don't see a global movement of women wearing red lipstick as an expression of "power."

You also said you thought it was inherently compromised, which I still don't get.

who's going to know that you are wearing red lipstick for any particular reason?

Again, Spirit Day is what comes to mind just because it's the last thing I paid attention to, but I don't recall people reacting to it with this objection either.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hmm. Our building is having a fire drill, kind of. We were told by the PA system to report to Stairwell G. On the map of this floor by the elevators, there are two stairwells listed - E and F.

So I guess we're all gonna die in a fire?

Pix, I'm so sorry about Byron. He was a good kitty.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

L'Oreal should then make a color called vagina dentata. And I will buy it with pride.

Okay, that would be awesome.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Pix, I'm so sorry. I hope your other beasties are of some comfort to you.

Off the lipstick topic-

Why do people advise people to buy "beater" cars for $1,000 or less-- because I do not think those exist anymore. $5,000 seems to be pretty much bottom of the barrel.

I'm so sorry. I've been thinking of you and Byron this morning and wishing him a peaceful passing. It's never enough time.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm so sorry, Pix.

Yeah. With the Cash for Clunkers resulting in the scrapping of a bunch of beaters and with the bad economy hurting new car sales, used car prices have gone up a lot, especially for fuel-efficient models.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We were told by the PA system to report to Stairwell G. On the map of this floor by the elevators, there are two stairwells listed - E and F.

Stairwell G is a secret stairwell that goes to Narnia.

What I said is that I don't see a global movement of women wearing red lipstick as an expression of "power."

Would your hackles not be raised if they said, "If you wear lipstick, wear red in solidarity.."?

They are, because I don't see the power in it. The description of the event was to wear lipstick to show power.

I said is that I don't see a global movement of women wearing red lipstick as an expression of "power."

You also said you thought it was inherently compromised, which I still don't get.

I don't actually remember using the term "inherently compromised." I have posted a lot today, so I'll go check. I'm also not sure what you think I mean when you say that I said that.
