I'm so sorry, Pix.
Why do people advise people to buy "beater" cars for $1,000 or less-- because I do not think those exist anymore. $5,000 seems to be pretty much bottom of the barrel.
Yeah. With the Cash for Clunkers resulting in the scrapping of a bunch of beaters and with the bad economy hurting new car sales, used car prices have gone up a lot, especially for fuel-efficient models.
We were told by the PA system to report to Stairwell G. On the map of this floor by the elevators, there are two stairwells listed - E and F.
Stairwell G is a secret stairwell that goes to Narnia.
What I said is that I don't see a global movement of women wearing red lipstick as an expression of "power."
Would your hackles not be raised if they said, "If you wear lipstick, wear red in solidarity.."?
They are, because I don't see the power in it. The description of the event was to wear lipstick to show power.
I said is that I don't see a global movement of women wearing red lipstick as an expression of "power."
You also said you thought it was inherently compromised, which I still don't get.
I don't actually remember using the term "inherently compromised." I have posted a lot today, so I'll go check. I'm also not sure what you think I mean when you say that I said that.
Are you all just as hackley about Slut Walk?
I don't actually remember using the term "inherently compromised."
I said I didn't think it was inherently contaminated, and you challenged me on that point. I must have over-read into it, but I took that to mean you thought that it
not
being inherently contaminated had to be defended, which made me think you thought it was. I apologise for my inference.
Are you all just as hackley about Slut Walk?
Am I "all just as hackley"?
Okay, stepping away now.
It is possibly a Stairwell of Requirement which only appears at a time of great need.
I meant "is everyone who is objecting to the lipstick feeling their hackles just as raised by Slut Walk. Not digging into you, Steph.
Was there an LA Slut Walk? I tried googling for one at the time, and couldn't find one. I'm not very good at walking, but I'd have walked for that. I'd totally walk for the freedom for my aesthetic choices *not* being interpreted as a moral issue by predators and assholes. It's a skirt, not a message T-shirt with my personal ethos on it.
Not purposely related: The Hunger Game nailpolish is back on, but the polish names have been changed.
