Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm sorry, brenda.

Superman saves man hit by car

Medical doctor Heng Khuen Cheok saw a pedestrian hit by a car in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday. He rushed to help but was initially rebuffed. Why? Because he was dressed as Superman -- part of his bachelor party hijinks that evening.

"One of the man's friends was crouching next to him and he took one look at me in my Superman costume and was telling me to go away," Dr Cheok said.

"He relaxed a bit when my friend told him we really were emergency doctors."

Together with the injured man's friend, they stemmed the bleeding to the victim's forehead and kept him stable until an ambulance arrived.

A swelling crowd of bewildered passers-by thought the incident was a set-up.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Poor Darby!

smonster, it does make your skin more sensitive to the sun. In your case, I'd use it at night, maybe three times a week, not every night, and def. use a good sunscreen with a physical blocker like titanium dioxide every day. You're sweating a lot, though, and you don't really have time to go reapply sunscreen every hour. You're in a sitch I haven't been in since college! Outdoors every day working hard. Honestly, though, you're young and your skin is good - the best things you can do for it right now are to eat a lot of carrots and stop smoking.

The camera does use film. I loved photography when I used a film camera, and have lost interest since I went to digital photography. I'm looking for something to rekindle my love of that hobby. The company that sells the camera does do processing, but you don't have to develop it there. There are a couple places in my town that develop medium-format film, but the company's prices are actually cheaper. It can be an expensive hobby for someone who doesn't develop her own film, that's the only thing that's stopping me.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I went conditioner-only a few years ago, and have really enjoyed the difference in the way my hair looks and feels -- it's softer and curlier and just generally easier to manage now. It took me about a week to get past the greasy stage, but now my hair feels as clean when I just condition it as it used to when I shampooed it too.

Also, I may be becoming a yoga convert. I'm really loving my prenatal yoga class (the first regular yoga class I've ever taken) and would strongly consider keeping up some kind of regular yoga practice after the baby is born (okay, maybe not *right* afterwards). Most studios I've looked at look fairly pricy, unfortunately, but there is one not far from my office that has a once-a-week pay-what-you-can lesson -- I should give them a try and see if their instructor is decent.

We've got Matilda's yeast infection under control but it's still making her yelp and cry when she pees.

Aw, poor noodle. Is she also still being treated for the UTI? Obviously IANAD, but the pain when peeing sounds more like a UTI than a standalone yeast infection to me. Hope it all clears up soon!

brenda, I'm sorry to hear the news about Darby. I hope the surgery is as easy and uncomplicated as possible.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Is she also still being treated for the UTI?

Nope, the second test for UTI came back negative. (The first was positive but we treated that with a weeks worth of antibiotics. Which is what apparently opened the door for the yeast infection.)

Anyway, the yeast infection is definitely clearing up. I was surprised that it hurt to pee again this morning because the medicine she's taking orally should alleviate that.
