Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

My right knee cracks something awful, and so does my right neck/shoulder. But it is my hip that hurts. It think so many years of retail/grocery/working backstage did me in early.

I feel like everything over 35 has been really downhill, so if at 40 it gets worse, I am not sure I can take it!

I was just reading a fic, and I came across an "eggcorn"- "scotch free" instead of "scot free". Normally those things bug me, but this is sort of hysterical, and frankly makes about as much sense either way!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Best wishes to you all. I am about 3-6 days behind in this thread, so I'll quick post and then catch up a bit later.

I am in instructor Hades this week because of grading AND because one of my students committed plagiarism. Yay. We do not have set procedures for dealing with plagiarism and so *I* need to decide what to do. $15 later and a new account on turnitin.com (and 2-3 hours worth of googling) and I found most of the places in which the student plagiarized.

I met with her to discuss the issue and I am not certain whether I will give her an "F" in the class (an "F" in the assignment would be the same as failing the class since it is the final paper) or if I will ask her to rewrite the paper, take a test on plagiarism and use of APA style.

Re: shampoo.

My hair is curly and kinky and and a lot of shampoos doing do my hair any good. For those of you having problems with the no 'poo method, you may need to change your conditioner. A lot of conditioners have shampoo in them anyway, and your hair may not be connecting with conditioner. I wash mine about once a week because any more often than that and my scalp will rebel. But I do put some product in my hair in between washes.

Art Crawl!!!

When you look in the ingredients in your conditioner - what would it say if it also has shampoo in it?

I'm in a somewhat different panic, because I really feel like I don't have time left to fix anything.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

what would it say if it also has shampoo in it?

Sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate - those are the two most common detergents in shampoo and conditioner.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

sumi,

let me clarify: I think almost all of them have shampoo unless they are "natural" or are dry.

In the Black Hair internet spaces they don't necessarily advocate no shampoo (although many strongly do), they say get rid of the SLS shampoos. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS ) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) - are demonized in the natural hair care communities because they supposedly have negative effects (potentially so) on our health. But these ingredients also tend to mess up curly hair with prolonged use.

Years ago, I made my own conditioner or I would use a natural shampoo/rinse (apple cider vinegar) to help my scalp and hair. That got my hair out of its emergency state.
