Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Lazarus mice.

Okay. I need advice from you no shampoo people. How long until my hair figures this out? Are we talking weeks or months? Also, won't dyeing my hair bollocks all of this work up again? And how do I get the chlorine out minus shampoo?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

my hair took a couple of weeks to figure it out, then I just conditioned for like another week. Since then it's been shampoo every 4 or 5 days, maybe condition once in between, but usually not. When I swam, I would do a light condition after each swim.

per it's way back link - I wish I hadn't read that, now I know why my pictures of the blue waffles mac and I made have so many views on flickr. PEOPLE ARE GROSS.

I did a baking soda paste tonight because water-only was not working. It feels better, but today I felt gross all day -- wore a hat for the whole day even.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I tried the no-shampoo thing. After a week my hair was one big itchy nasty tangle and I couldn't stand myself anymore.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, that's seriously nast. People weird.

wore a hat for the whole day even

Was it a cute hat?

I missed the window on the Wire t-shirt for my sister. It was a UK store, and I can't depend on shipping. None of the ones I can find in the US are as cool, sadly. Back to some sort of drawing board. Which means surfing Etsy and Uncommon Goods, probably. Which isn't bad, but I dunno. I feel like it's always earrings or necklaces.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Okay. I need advice from you no shampoo people. How long until my hair figures this out? Are we talking weeks or months?

I'm sure everyone has a different view of the effect of not shampooing, but IMO it won't change your hair, because hair is dead. It will change the level of oil in it, because you are not stripping it daily. If you have drier hair, you may never need to shampoo. If you have more oily hair, you may need to shampoo every once in awhile, some people might even need it daily.

ETA: I condition every day, which I think washes out most of the product and extra grease. If I only washed with hot water my hair would be gross.

hip deep in pie

I tried not using shampoo and it took about a week to get past the grossness. However, with my very fine, thin hair, as soon as I tried using a bit of shampoo again it went back to greasy grossness. I think I could have stayed happy with no shampoo at all.
