I miss my parents, suddenly.
Weird. I'm usually colder than that.

Neil deGrasse Tyson to host a sequel series to Cosmos. Produced by Seth McFarland, to air on Fox.
So much YAY! and WTF!? in one place.
Also, two different people tried to make plans with me for tonight,
Because you're the life of the party.
This morning I'm collecting Emmett and EM who are returning from NYC. They'll be cranky because they got up so early. Actually she'll be cranky and he'll be gronky.
Because you're the life of the party.
Because they don't realize I'm thisclose to cutting a bitch.
Tonight I'm going to a going away party for a friend who's off to finish her dissertation at Berkeley, and then I hope she will be back. Tomorrow morning, learning to restore wood windows. The rest of the weekend is still up in the air.

What a random configuration! But, yay, indeed.
Oh look, ita made me all verklempt with her affirmation of the parent-child bond.
This morning is deliciously overcast. I am delighted to see June gloom in August. This is probably due to my house not having A/C, so the cooler the morning, the more pleasant the house feels in the afternoon.
Timelies, all. Hugs or other acceptable commiseration to the hurting, congrats to those who are making progress on job stuff.
I'm feeling sick to my stomach today, but I have work I need to do. Actual puking will probably change my priorities, but for now I'm chugging Pepto Bismol and coping.
Tomorrow I'm going to my friends' daughter's 1-year birthday party, unless I'm still feeling sick to my stomach, in which case it's probably a virus that they would rather not have in their home. We'll see how that goes. I should probably pick up a present today, regardless. What do 1-year-olds like? Are stuffed animals an acceptable go-to gift?
One year olds like everything. Wrapping paper is as exciting to them as presents. Stuffed animals are fine, but I like to give books (a board book, at that age), since stuffed animals have a way of multiplying and you can never have too many books. Especially when the kids is still at an age where she eats them.
Seconding flea's idea.
