I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

Timelies, all. Hugs or other acceptable commiseration to the hurting, congrats to those who are making progress on job stuff.

I'm feeling sick to my stomach today, but I have work I need to do. Actual puking will probably change my priorities, but for now I'm chugging Pepto Bismol and coping.

Tomorrow I'm going to my friends' daughter's 1-year birthday party, unless I'm still feeling sick to my stomach, in which case it's probably a virus that they would rather not have in their home. We'll see how that goes. I should probably pick up a present today, regardless. What do 1-year-olds like? Are stuffed animals an acceptable go-to gift?

One year olds like everything. Wrapping paper is as exciting to them as presents. Stuffed animals are fine, but I like to give books (a board book, at that age), since stuffed animals have a way of multiplying and you can never have too many books. Especially when the kids is still at an age where she eats them.

Seconding flea's idea.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

A 1 yo is easy, stuffed animals, board books, manipulable toys, it's all good.

I think stuffed animals are good, especially something a little different like an alligator or such. The quirky ones often seem to be the most fun.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Tomorrow is my birthday and I turn 55, which seems WAY TOO OLD WTF. I am celebrating by getting up early to go to skate class, then working on my new blog. Then off to dinner and to see Cowboys & Aliens, otherwise known as "Daniel Craig in Cowboy Clothes Yes Indeed I Will Take a Big Helping Of That."

Sunday, hacking away at the plants which are trying to take over my garden.

I don't know what I'm doing this weekend, but I have decided that I'm having fish tacos for lunch today. I haven't been good with the long-term planning lately.
