"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Strega,

you make a lot of sense, but the "Lost" bitterness thread (at least when I read it) didn't exclude positive comments and it was a fun ass thread! The consequence in "Lost" is that it drove a LOT of people away.

English is essentially language's equivalent to a transvestite.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Hee--from Tom's link:

English is essentially Pictish that was attacked out of nowhere by Angles cohabiting with Teutons who were done in by a drunk bunch of Vikings masquerading as Frenchmen who insisted they spoke Latin and Greek but lacked the Arabic in which to convey that. --Bill Hammel

Our wings are not tired.

Oh thank you, Ginger. I love that story.

That's hilarious. And now I'm picturing billytea's DW getting stoned on poppies and running around in big circles.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ah, crap. Coworker just reminded me that we haven't gotten departing coworker a gift of any kind, and we probably should. She's moving out of town almost immediately, to a much smaller place, so... some kind of gift card? But what? I'm inclined to Amazon, just because you can use it for anything, but that seems incredibly lame. Is Zappos too weird, from coworkers? She's totally inappropriate, if that helps.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Gift card definitely sounds like the way to go, Jesse. Personally, in that situation I'd be pretty happy with an Amazon card. Does Zappos do much other than shoes?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.
