The example of TWOP gone crazy that I think of is the Supernatural forum. The recapper recaps like he hates the show, and he seems to take it out on the posters. It is about agreeing with him, as opposed to acting like decent human beings. They are not evenhanded across the forums, I assume. Most of the other places I read are either unmoderated or appear so--and appearing so is the best indication of a well moderated forum.

Yes, I think TWOP over-manages, but you certainly don't get crazy troll shit over there. I had to leave the Lost threads permanently when the crazy mod decided that there should not be any negativity and closed the "things I don't like about 'Lost'" thread. WTF?
I like the show, I watched every episode, but I have a right to complain about it too. And the posters in the thread were magnificent. Incredibly funny, catty as hell, and on point.
