Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You know, I think it is just the bedsheet it's laying on.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Ah, yes. I see that now.

Starting on day 3 of Uncle Frank. I'm enjoying the visit and haven't chafed to much about People! In! My! Space!. We went (on another record heat day: 103, uhg, my car ac cannot cope when it breaks 100) down to Fort McHenry, where I haven't been in a while. Luckily, there was a nice breeze, and the views are spectacular. So far, I'm feeding him well and providing his with lots of seltzer (drink of choice.) We've been to the Thai Restaurant,Chocolatea, Pappas (so he could get good crabcakes- I had a greek salad, I'm a bad Marylander) and my cousin is coming from Frederick today with her kids (2 of whom I haven't met!) and I have reservations for Clementine.

Also got him to a bike shop (20 Twenty? Twenty 20? In Hampden) where we got him a camelback, which is crucial since he was waaay dehydrated from the ride from NY to here and his ride home will be under similar unrelenting heat. Also? One of the bike dudes at the shop, I kinda have a crush on now. He very sweetly indulged my uncle's ability to talktalktalk (my aunt explicitly told me how to divert him,) but then became very interested hearing about his motorcycling. Though really, 73 year old who rides out a classic italian bike from Colorado? In the summer? During a heat wave? In full gear?Kind of an interesting topic! Too bad I have no excuse to go back and visit a bike shop!

And my aunt will be forever grateful I made sure he got a camelback. I know she was fretting about it.

My uncle is so damned cool.

And very shortly, I introduce him to my wee farmer's market!

not your mom's socks.

Anyone else feel like this is it? This is when we lose what's left of our world leadership role?

This is the really sad part. All they cared about was political election hockey. (four days to armtwist a bill that had no hope of passing the senate?) and the don't care what anyone who isn't them thinks. That's so wrong in so many ways.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

After watching Archer, Emmett is now convinced he needs an ocelot. Presumably to go with the finger-monkey he's always wanted.

Have you shown him any Honey West yet?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I was reading some stuff on NPR and I saw a piece about the mayor of Philly. Did Philly folks really elect a mayor with the last name of Nutter?

Sounds like he is doing good things, but...Nutter?

Ha, right?

This morning I'm meeting a friend for breakfast with her kids. They're stopping through on their way home or going to their vacation house, I'm not sure. Either way, I win, because they're here right now.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Though really, 73 year old who rides out a classic italian bike from Colorado? In the summer? During a heat wave? In full gear?Kind of an interesting topic!

Seriously!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Sara, see if he'd go for Ethiopian food and take him to that place. Isn't the train museum right there?

I know this is normal kid behavior, but mac has slept in every day this week, it has taken multiple trips to his room to get him up. And today? Up by himself. I told him it was NOT on and next week he was to get himself up.
