Somebody tell me if the new Thundercats cartoon will defile my cherished, not-exactly-childhood memories of the original.
The original was pretty bad, but my BF at the time and I created a vast intricate *adult* universe around it, so I'm fond of those memories.
I remember loving Thundercats, but I was pretty young at the time, so I don't really remember anything other than the theme song and what a few characters looked like.
Noodle has gone missing in the house. Took both cats to the vet today and she came home with an Elizabethan collar thanks to a spot she has been scratching. While we were at karate, she escaped the collar and has found a GOOD hiding place. Meanwhile, Miss Kitty has lost 2 lbs in the last couple of years, so she is down to 12.
Come out, little Noodle, come out.
Tonight, Cartoon Network. 8PM for me, but you may have already missed it. I would suspect they'll rerun it.
Grrr, the next ep is on August 5, and is listed as episode 3, and is only being shown once, so they apparently are not rerunning it. Way to advertise Toon Disney! I actually watch a lot of animated stuff (i.e. the GI Joe reboot, which probably has the same core adult audience), so I'm surprised I had not a whiff of this.
I honestly only saw something about it as a commercial in a movie theater, and then saw an article about it this morning.
It's DH's bday, and the Boy watches Cartoon Network, so we have had it on the calendar for 2 weeks.
The animation was good, the storyline was true to my childhood memories. I'd say a pretty good reboot.
But it's definitely written for kids -- not a lot of sly grown-up references like you get in a LOT of today's cartoons, which can really be appreciated by adults and kids.
But they hooked DH and me on nostalgia factor, and it was fun. The child liked it a lot.
but he's obsessed with tigers, lynxes and robots
After watching Archer, Emmett is now convinced he needs an ocelot. Presumably to go with the finger-monkey he's always wanted.
Wow, Lion-O has ridiculous hair.
Yes, you may well be getting a Thundercats watch-n-post.
The guy playing the kind is the voice of the original Lion-O.
Okay, I suppose I have to whitefont this:
What is this shit about killing off Panthro? It's gotta be a fakeout, since the guy who seems to have survived is played by Clancy Brown, and he's always a bad guy.
