"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

My doctor actually announced a diagnosis of diabetes as good news. She said, given you eyesight symptoms, another possibility could have been MS.

At least it wasn't the funny syphilis.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Much ~ma to you and your DH, Maria.

le nubian, sorry for the scary diagnosis. I'm glad there are so many around you who can help steer you right.

Trying to discuss politics these days, I lose all my words and degenerate into teeth-gnashing and screeching. It's best I don't engage the subject. Seriously, I can't take the outrage overload anymore.

Art Crawl!!!

Man, the alarms went off and I turned on the radio and eventually a dj broke into the program to say that funnel clouds have been sighted . . . but it's bright and sunny. Weather channel says that there are funnel clouds developing in conjunction with cumulous clouds but that they probably won't touch the surface.

Very weird.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Well, I've heard it said (possibly here) that most people use IE to download a good browser.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Anyone else feel like this is it? This is when we lose what's left of our world leadership role?

World Reacts To Debt Ceiling Debacle: ‘Irresponsible,’ ‘Worst Kind Of Absurd Theatrics,’ U.S. Politicians A ‘Laughing Stock’

From France and Germany to China and India, countries around the world are angry that American politicians play with the possibility of a U.S. default like a yo-yo with little regard for the international economic system that depends on American solvency.

Despite China’s traditional preference of staying out of the domestic affairs of other nations, senior Chinese officials’ frustrations are growing louder and louder. Stephen Roach, the non-executive chairman of Morgan Staley Asia, said senior Chinese officials told him the debt ceiling debte in the U.S. is “truly shocking.” “We understand the politics,” a Chinise official said, “but your government’s continued recklessness is astonishing.” And newspapers around the world are voicing discontent with Congress’s handling of the debt ceiling:

Possibly we are seeing history being made.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I may force my husband to watch the new Thundercats cartoon tonight.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Rather than stew over the job situation or the totally frelled up political situation, I am going to go watch coal miners in 1980s England dance ballet.

IOW, we got tickets to Billy Elliott. Woot. Now off to don a polka-dot dress, cause how often can I justify wearing a polka-dot dress?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

tommyrot,

I suspect you might be correct, but I am hoping that the US can come back from this. I don't want to hide under my bed for the next 10 years.

Thrive to spite them

Toddson my Grandma and it went extremely well. She went from having to wear her glasses all the time to not needing them. Or just needing reading glasses for small print (I can't remember).
