Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

Of course, I'm like:

"Oh! I'll be a Black Buffista Bitch!"

um. Maybe I'm that already...

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Toddson, my dad had cataract surgery for both eyes this year. It's quick and he swears it's the best damn thing ever. My dad HATES doctors, and he was over the moon about this.

Le Nub, don't be afraid of Bitches! Also, my mom was diagnosed with Type II the same time she was diagnosed with lung cancer (double-whammy) and if SHE can manage her diabetes, trust me, you can.)

I realize I should probably have posted that in Bitches. Oh well ....

My mom just had cataract surgery and it was quite the success. It's amazing how it has advanced in the last 20 years or so.

My dad had it a couple years ago, and he's the one I get my awful (-13 in both eyes!) vision from...and they gave him great vision. I'm totally jealous.

Todd, if you need someone to pick you up/take you/run errands with your surgery, please let me know.

Thanks! won't be until after my organization's conference (late October), so it's not going to be a rush to the OR.

In other news, I've been summoned for jury duty. In TWO courts. The local one, as usual, wants the one-day/ one-trial deal. The federal court, however, needs a jury for a trial starting September 14. For four to five weeks, maybe more. um ... I'm hoping to be excused (since, not only will we be frantically busy and my not being available full-time would be a major problem, they wouldn't pay me for the whole time).

Well, with 2011 being rotten to so many of us, can we hope 2012 will be better? aside from having to go through the entire election cycle?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Thank you, Amy and JZ. Though I'd take it further to a "WTF, 2011?" place.

Well, with 2011 being rotten to so many of us, can we hope 2012 will be better?

I said that about 2010. Look where that got me. (Though I hope it's not the same for the rest of you.)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

My doctor actually announced a diagnosis of diabetes as good news. She said, given you eyesight symptoms, another possibility could have been MS.

uh. happy happy clap clap?
