Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just had a short online conversation who said Willow was unrealistic because he doesn't know any women who slept with one or more guys and then came out of the closet.

I refrained from asking him how many lesbians he knows.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Over-the-Rhine neighborhood

Oooh, yes. Cool funky stuff. Also, the 'hood. It's what happens when hipsters gentrify but the previous residents have no place to go. But definitely cool funky stuff.

William Howard Taft National Historic Site

I've actually never been there. I feel like my Cincinnatian card should be revoked.

Actually, your whole list (other than the Creation Museum) is in a relatively small area of the city. Very doable.

I noticed an Underground Railroad Museum right near downtown that looked intriguing,

Oh, yeah. It's very good, but not what I would call quirky and fun. But an excellent museum nonetheless.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

My DH's ex-boss was in a minor motorcycle accident but ended up with compartment syndrome. Like Hayden, he got help in a timely way, but and only because they were out to dinner with friends and one was a doctor. He complained about his leg pain and the doc made him go to the emergency room RIGHT THEN.

His wife is a TV writer and worked on Lost. They were looking for an unusual and dramatic way for a character to die and she told them about her husband's syndrome. They used it to kill off Ian Somerhalder, I think it was.

information libertarian

I have been to the Taft Historic Site! Because we are National Parks Passport stamp dorks. William Howard Taft was a very big man. Yep, that's my takeaway.

OMG. Dude. There's a term for lesbians who haven't slept with men ("gold star"). There are plenty of women who ID as lesbian who even have been married or have kids, dude. And that's assuming "lesbian" and not "bi" (which...Willow? C'mon)

Because we are National Parks Passport stamp dorks.

Ooh. Tempting...but I should focus on my actual passport stamp goals. And getting to Montana, since I'll be in North Dakota (49th state!) tomorrow. I just seriously contemplated driving to Montana when I land (I get in at 7pm. So if Montana is about 3 hours away...I'd be back at the hotel at 1AM? Guess that's a no)

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Scrappy, that's where I learned about it. I believe there were some links for more information than most of us wanted to see.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Excellent! And Cincy is pretty walkable, right?

Yeah, I should have added "historic sites" to my list too. But I think I'm more excited by the American Sign Museum, honestly!

Pretty much. It's hilly, but where you want to go is within the same basically flat area. (Getting from Over-the-Rhine to the Taft birthplace will definitely require a car or transportation of some sort.)
