I just seriously contemplated driving to Montana when I land (I get in at 7pm. So if Montana is about 3 hours away...I'd be back at the hotel at 1AM? Guess that's a no)

Pretty much. It's hilly, but where you want to go is within the same basically flat area. (Getting from Over-the-Rhine to the Taft birthplace will definitely require a car or transportation of some sort.)
