They should film that story and show it every Christmas.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I may need to soother myself with another creamsicle.

Hey, learning how to self-soothe is an important life skill!

We pay our private insurance too. It costs a lot. For barely any coverage. But I think it would be worse for us to do it through the company, because then we would have to pay for it for other employees if we ever had any other employees. Which we don't. And not that we could get group rates anyway. But still.

We actually ended up with our current coverage through this awesome company that does insurance for musicians, and got what was basically a group rate, for independent musicians. They also cover our gear, which is a huge deal because there really aren't any policies that cover it adequately. I mean, homeowners will cover it at the house, and auto will sometimes cover it in the car, but what if it's at the venue? Which is where it's most vulnerable. Or in transit other ways, or at the rehearsal space, or, or, or. It's so great to have a real policy that covers it wherever, whenever, for the risks it actually faces. Which reminds me, I need to update my inventory list with them.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

No Corb Lund for us tonight.

Aw. Too bad.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

The suspect is a native Norwegian, and the targets imply some kind of internal political motive.

Remind me again not to read the comments. They're saying things like "80 percent of terrorism is Muslim." Timothy McVeigh. Eric Robert Rudolph. Chechen militants. Basque separatists. IRA. PLO. Tamil Tigers. State-sponsored terrorism. Crazy people throughout the world.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

80 people at the youth camp? Jesus. When I watched the 6:30 news, the count of those killed -- just at the camp, not in Oslo -- was in the single digits.

How could one person kill 80 people? What kind of gun did he have? That doesn't seem possible. Jesus.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

It boggles the mind. We had a shooter in Tassie in the 90s, killed 35 people at a tourist spot. That's over 10% of our usual annual murder rate, in one incident. It made a huge impact here. I can only guess how this'll affect Norway.

He called a lot of them together before he opened fire -- they thought he was a policeman; they'd already heard about the bombing. And, well, then they were on an island.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Yeah and he apparently shot quite a few who were in the water - trying to make it to the mainland.

What a tragedy.
