Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

Because books.

Two creamsicles isn't too many, right?

I can't imagine paying for private insurance, msbelle. I can imagine that's a total budget-killer.

Managing a donation drive is hard. Hats off to all of you who do this. We had to put together a list of people from 4 different spheres to contact for three different people, using 4 different methods of payment (cash, IOU, check and paypal.) And 4 of us are doing collections, so I've set up a google doc to share so we can track it all (esp for me, since I'm doing the paypal.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Two creamsicles isn't too many, right?

Nope.

Because books.

In non-sense-making news, talk of budgets and spending less money has led to me to window shop for clothes online.

I may need to soother myself with another creamsicle.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

talk of budgets and spending less money has led to me to window shop for clothes online.

I had a Coldwater Creek Groupon for $50 that was set to expire yesterday, and I got this blouse with it: [link] in white. After shipping, etc., I paid $3 and change, plus I paid $25 for the Groupon. So, $28 total for that blouse. Not bad. But I need to stop impulse-buying Groupons.

Except for sushi.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

mmmm, sushi.

Things that make me smile: Some nights when I get home, one of my neighbors is outside tossing a softball around with his kid, who I swear looks just like Opie, but with bright red hair.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

animal picture of the week:

That looks like good eatin'.

Man! Our department went for Indian today, and I cheerfully ordered the #9--goat tikka, and the waiter went "Huh?" I pointed it out on the menu and he said they didn't have it, or any of the goat dishes. I was very disappointed. The tandoori chicken was good, but not what I wanted.

The mango lassi was delish.

Steph, that's a lovely blouse. If I were open to wearing short sleeves to work (a combo of hiding the track marks and the damned air conditioning) I'd totally impulse buy it.

My Captain America shirt did not come in time for the movie.

In other random news, this fresh bread is delicious, and my obsession with Nutella continues apace.

Didn't Opie have bright red hair?
