Kaylee: Can I? Zoe: Sure. He's out, though. Kaylee: He did this for me, once.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I heard Adele due to an X-Men First Class vid. I've run across a fair amount of recent music through fandom vids and recommendations, really. The local radio stations play either oldies or bland, generic pop and MTV has long since stopped playing music, so I don't know where else I'd find new stuff.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Do you have a TARDIS in your pants?

....or are you just happy to see me?

(Sorry. It was either that or "That's what she said!" I'm operating on very little sleep here.)

DH usually carries a backpack, and on vacation (when he doesn't need room for work stuff or a morning paper) he has a man-bag like this. And he has a briefcase which pretty much just comes out at job interviews. But for wallet/keys/chapstick, it's all pockets.

I've heard of Adele and I've probably heard some of her music, but I couldn't match up her name with any of her songs.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Men's pants have deeper pockets than women's for one thing, not to mention that they always have pockets.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I have also heard of Adele, but I don't know any songs. I really like her style, however.

I very rarely have pockets, and I hate carrying a bag, but I do. I am always amazed at costume measurements how many things come out of male pockets! It is sort of like a Tardis!

I hate it when I don't have pockets or belt loops. Which is most of the time. I should get new clothes.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Men's pants have deeper pockets than women's for one thing, not to mention that they always have pockets.

I took a class called Women and the Economy where we did a class session on precisely this, on the idea that women's pockets being either smaller or non-existent was a message about women's role in the economy.

Blargh.

Grace has surgery today. Am tired already.

not your mom's socks.

Wishing you and Grace well today, Kat with good outcomes and easy wakings.

I haven't touched base about OH in August yet - partly because I'm not sure if I'm going up. I don't want any more sinus infections this year, and something growing near the lake equals instant problems for me, seemingly no matter what I'm taking.

In the meantime, I'm trying something new to ease the related eyestrain problems - [link] - they're goofy, and yellow, but if they keep me from having any more eye-migraines and other stuff, I am all about the goofy. My fingers are crossed.

Art Crawl!!!

I bought two dresses from Land's End: and I had forgotten that Land's End dresses have pockets. Very lovely pockets.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The brick red skirt I was asking about accesorising with last week has pockets, set in the side seam. They're decently big too, and with the drop waist box pleats it's possible to get stuff in there without ruining the line of the skirt. Much like. I do prefer that to patch pockets, since those tend to look awkward with anything in them.

My god, my head hurts. And my stomach. I've been up for two hours, alternating feeling sorry for myself with reading fic. It seemed the thing to do.

Surgery-ma for Grace, and mom-ma for Kat.

I was going to do this, but by the time I got around to it, the dress I wanted was out of stock in my size. Curse them!
