I hate it when I don't have pockets or belt loops. Which is most of the time. I should get new clothes.

Men's pants have deeper pockets than women's for one thing, not to mention that they always have pockets.
I took a class called Women and the Economy where we did a class session on precisely this, on the idea that women's pockets being either smaller or non-existent was a message about women's role in the economy.
Blargh.
Grace has surgery today. Am tired already.
Wishing you and Grace well today, Kat with good outcomes and easy wakings.
I haven't touched base about OH in August yet - partly because I'm not sure if I'm going up. I don't want any more sinus infections this year, and something growing near the lake equals instant problems for me, seemingly no matter what I'm taking.
In the meantime, I'm trying something new to ease the related eyestrain problems - [link] - they're goofy, and yellow, but if they keep me from having any more eye-migraines and other stuff, I am all about the goofy. My fingers are crossed.
I bought two dresses from Land's End: and I had forgotten that Land's End dresses have pockets. Very lovely pockets.
The brick red skirt I was asking about accesorising with last week has pockets, set in the side seam. They're decently big too, and with the drop waist box pleats it's possible to get stuff in there without ruining the line of the skirt. Much like. I do prefer that to patch pockets, since those tend to look awkward with anything in them.
My god, my head hurts. And my stomach. I've been up for two hours, alternating feeling sorry for myself with reading fic. It seemed the thing to do.
Surgery-ma for Grace, and mom-ma for Kat.

I was going to do this, but by the time I got around to it, the dress I wanted was out of stock in my size. Curse them!
I got really into Adele after her appearance on SNL. She stole the fucking show, yes she did. After that, I am an Adele fangirl. Love her!
As far as the mob and hedge funds, I remember the stock broker course Christopher was taking on "The Sopranos", so I believe it. I also believe that Wall Street in general is organized crime, so I'm not sure who is in the mob and who isn't.
Shit, just that mention of Lands End, and I just went and ordered a shitload of stuff! But it was really on sale. I don't think I own anything of theirs, so we'll see how it goes, but I am willing to try a nice skirt for $20!
On the misuse of 'literally': [link]
Here's what I don't get, peeve-wise:
“It should not be used as a synonym for actually or really,’’ writes Paul Brians in “Common Errors in English Usage.’’
Why is it OK to say something is actual or real in a metaphorical sense, but not literal? I feel like they are exactly the same thing. My head did not actually explode, in the exact same way that it did not literally explode.

I agree - if "literally" is off the table as an intensifier, "really" and "actually" should be banned as well. "Literal" "real" and "actual" being more or less synonyms and all.
