I just realized I haven't worn pants to work in well over a month. The skirts and dresses make this weather bearable.

Dana. Yes, it is.
I don't know if it's awesome, but it is hilarious.
ION, watched a local thing on MD crabcakes. Made them look tasty...and I don't like crab.
Went out to a birthday lunch with fellow July bday friends at Chocolatea. NOM. I had the spicy chicken wrap, which was vaguely thai-spicy and good. But I had a hard time deciding, and since it is walking distance between work and home (just about halfway) will have to get back there. And it is quite reasonable: I paid $7.50 for a generous wrap and small side salad and it was enough that dinner was just a few crackers and cheese. It's an interesting concept: fairly asian inspired lunch food, traditional cafe breakfasts (belgian waffles, pancakes and eggs,) a plethora of tea and tea-based drinks (menu is longer than the lunch menu) and chocolate, both drinks and truffles. I imagine it does well in the neighborhood.
The discussion of clothes gives me an excuse to bring up "roaring girls" something I don't we've discussed here, but seems to me a very Buffista topic. Pdf: [link] . The plays apparently were based on a real phenomena, women who dressed in mens clothes and drank and brawled. According to the link "roaring" was a gendered term, applied to men, so a roaring girl was very definitely cross dressing and assuming a role usually reserved for rowdy young men, for "roaring boys".
Did you see this article about olden-tymey undergarments (and etc.), which includes talk of the roaring girls? It's FASCINATING. [link]
Yeah it was interesting. Where I heard about the roaring girls, but I actually found the roaring girls more interesting than the article about underwear.
Just checking that it wasn't some crazy internet coincidence.....
I desperately want this: [link] as a poster. But I'm also in the process of agreeing to make an Angry Birds cake.
