Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Somehow I think that's really unlikely.

Um, yeah. Apparently.

Yikes.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Is there a generally respected movie review site that'll point out potential skeeve in a movie?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is there a generally respected movie review site that'll point out potential skeeve in a movie?

Mr. PMoon?

Good start. I will bookmark him. Though I'm also looking for someplace that will point out skeevy gender stuff or "hey, lots of funny, funny rape jokes" because apparently I am done paying money for things like that.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Livejournal is pretty much my resource for that. It does require that someone takes the hit and sees the movie. Someone not getting paid for it.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

We should start that site. You know, in all our free time.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Cass,

if you find a good site, please give a holler because I would read it in a minute.

So I'm coordinating a collection for my friends who got robbed. Can't replace all the work that was on the computers, nor their sense of security. But we can at least do this much. And I don't know if it would have occurred to me without having witnessed and been a part of such similar efforts on this board. So thank you.

I'm hoping, given their large circle of friends, that we can raise enough to at least replace both of the personal laptops. I'd like to reach out to their families as well, if for no other reason than to let them know that we've got their kids' back out here.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Holy crap, y'all. I think I may have a new job, just as utterly randomly as you could possibly imagine. Late this morning, Beloved!Ex-Boss happened to run into the senior analyst in a tiny but high-intensity division; he asked her how she was doing, and she laughed hollowly and said, "We can't find an analyst who can edit and write, and we're dying without one." He said, "I think I have someone for you. Give me five minutes." He called me, I made faint geebling noises, she called me, I met with her this afternoon, and she's submitting all the paperwork to HR tomorrow.

Ho-lee crap. All those years of flailing and begging and pleading and going nuts trying to get out of my admin dead end, and this thing just flops into my lap out of nowhere. Beloved!Ex-Boss is an angel, I tell you what. A grumpy, balding angel.
