I am covered with bug bites. I can't even remember the last time I had this many bites. Every time I walk out of the house, I come back in with more bites. Somebody apparently thinks I'm delicious.

One of the churches near Noah's school has VBS this week. I was thinking of taking him as a way to outsource any obligation to deliver any sort of god-related info that might be useful later for literary references. But instead, we went to Legoland today and tomorrow we are going to hear reggae.

Perhaps I should just take him to actual church. My mom wants me to get them baptized but I don't know of enough Catholics to actually do that.

Anyhow, VBS thwarted by Legoland.

But honestly, if all you want is literary ref, you probably don't want VBS. VBS's are all chaotic with the noise and the declared affirmations and it's all a little over the top for me, let alone for anyone just peripheral to the church.

Legoland and reggae sound like a much more appealing scenario.

Actual church would probably be a lot less frenetic way to give him exposure that you could then discuss. Or, you know, next time we get together I'd be happy to talk to him. We could work out what you want said beforehand. Or you're free to use me as a reference point if you want, i.e., "Our family doesn't believe in blah blah, but other people do, like Lisa and Dave."

I think Noah's definitely old enough to hear about God without believing it. I mean, I know kids that age who can articulate why they don't believe in Santa, even though they're willing to let other kids celebrate without disabusing them of their notions.
