Betty Ford died. Did someone else post this and I missed it?

I just read that. She was nice.
She was brave and honest. She was pro-abortion and the Equal Rights Amendment. She chose not to hide her bout with cancer or alchohol. She was a great dame!
I find it quite fitting that Neville grew up so handsome. All the hotties in college had been quite geeky and gawky in HS. OK maybe that says more about my taste in men than anything else, but still!
And thanks Dana for reminding me that I really need to be reading Go Fug Yourself right now.
This is the best obituary for Mrs. Ford that I have seen. Oddly written by someone who passed away earlier this year.
chrismg, that's a very perceptive insight. Sometimes they gobsmack you like that.
Direct transfer initiated by you, P-C? Or direct draw initiated by your landlord? Because the latter is a bad idea.
The former.
BofA is certainly a pain. One of the other reasons I have remained with them is that one of my biggest clients uses BofA. In fact there is a BofA branch on the studio lot. I have been able to walk into that branch with very large checks (ones that will cover my payroll for a few months during big installs) and they clear them on the same day with no questions.
The counter is when they are evil. The current dilemma is based on an out of state check over $5000 which can trigger all kinds of holds. They are required to release up to $5000 within 2 days but can hold the amount of the check over that threshold for up to 5 days.
The really annoying part of it is that these banking rules are based on when the system used paper verification and transit time had to be accounted for. Now it is all electronic and instant. Don't even get me started on the charges for wire transfers. That is something that is the most direct and by my understand secure way to move money and yet carries crazy fees.
Yeah, that was why we started with them, because our board treasurer had access to one in Kansas and we had ours in New Mexico and Arizona, so he could put stuff directly into our account and whatnot.
True. The wiring fee was ridic. And yet? I got the money. So I put up with it.
And you're right about the reasoning. All this stuff is just the bank taking advantage of the fact that it used to take a while. Now they have the money and they're earning interest off it while it sits there and I can't get to it.
Timelies all!
Ended up at a Japanese restaurant last night. I had a bento box, while everyone else did teriyaki. Yum.
