Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I felt like GWB spent like half his presidency vacationing at his ranch in Crawford, but I suspect that was perception too,

well, it was kind of legit, he spent 487 days at Camp David and 490 days at the ranch according the the Huffington Post. So 977 days not working. Well, there is some possibility that he was working at Camp David.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

a random order meara:

So 977 days not working.

Huh? Now I'm curious. I wonder how that stacks up against the other presidents?

That sandstorm is scary looking.

Also, count me as among the CU members here. In more than 10 years, never had a problem with them.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

A co-worker sent me this [link] to her friend's album of aerial shots of the flooding in MO/IA/NE/SD. Very impressive.

And a news report with video from Yankton SD: [link]

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

More vacation time than his father, Carter, Clinton, and Reagan (who if memory recalls, set a record back then).

The status is NOT quo.

Re: Credit Unions

Yes, I’ve maintained my credit union membership that is back in New England because I loved it so, but I think the time has come for us to take a look at our options overall. I’ve found a great local credit union that is aimed at educators (that’s what the one I had in CT was) but also has an excellent small business wing. Might be perfect for us. Honestly, the only reason we haven’t done anything sooner is that it’s such a hassle to get everything transferred over. We’d basically be consolidating my c/s at the old credit union and ND’s personal c/s, business account, and our joint account at the evil bank. Totally doable, but I think we’d better wait until August when we get back from the business travel to tackle all the paperwork. The tricky thing is that I need to fill out all of the paperwork from the CT branch when I’m visiting home the week after next, so I’m not quite sure how all of that is going to work.

ita, that is beyond cool. I’m so glad you were able to go and enjoy your day.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Truly an instrument of God's love, JZ. I'm so sorry your congregation has had to deal with that.

And yes, thanks Pix for reminding me, I'm glad you had fun, ita. Is there any gossip or Leverage spoilers you can share?

Oh JZ, I just backread. That’s horrific. I’m so sorry you are dealing with all of this.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Wow, JZ. That current pastor sounds like a double-dipped jackass.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

It will at least make it more difficult for him to posture as the wounded innocent being hounded by all those left-wing bullies for being such a good Christian, but it's awful that he had the ability to do it at all.

The other guy has at least been assigned to another local church so he could continue his treatments uninterrupted, and two years later he's still alive and serving. And now we know where he is and what was done to him, so we can make a proper stink about it.

(And on a completely other topic, yes, credit unions are fantastic. We found ours through occasional Buffista JenK, and consequently owe her infinite cocktails and footrubs of gratitude.)
