Yeah, they do it all the time. We were in the same sitch recently, Pix, and a donor ended up wiring the money in, because at least then it wouldn't sit. But we got hit with fees anyway.

My sistah in bank hatred, Liese.
Ugh, that's frustrating, Pix. I mean, I find it frustrating just in terms of bill paying, but for a small business that would be brutal. I hadn't thought it through before.
I have ginger ale and I have pistachio gelato. I wonder what kind of float that would make?
A full week is a lot, even by crappy bank standards. That really sucks, Pix.

Possibly a crazy awesome one?
I always wonder, in this electronic age, why no one ever has to take extra time to get money *out* of our accounts!!!??

A delicious one.
In the non-electronic age, deposits were available the next day, so it sort of seems like bank BS.
Oh, that's infuriating, Pix. And, yeah, worse yet, the bigger the check the longer they'll sit on it. But yours sounds especially evil - not that it helps that much when there are lots of bills and payroll and whatnot due, but the bank and credit union Hec and I are with will usually make $75-100 available the second you make the deposit, and then lag a day or so on the remainder. I can't believe you made your deposit Tuesday and they wouldn't even release a token amount until today.
Crazymaking bullshit. And, of course, they don't hesitate to hit you with overdraft fees for the crappy results of their bullshit, and the fees that will just about crush an individual or small business are less than pocket change to the banks.
