I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Okay, to give the tile guy credit, he was here at 7:15, which is much earlier than I expected him.

I am working from home today, since my workplace was cyberattacked on Friday. As a result, they turned off the internet, email, and most of the intranet.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Damn Aims. I hope that gets better.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Pix, I can't butterfly either. Not really. But the lifeguard helped explain how to do it one day. It was like me learning to drive stick. I knew all the components, but putting it together was a challenge.

Drat. Our #1 choice for a scholarship we have (full tuition, +20K in exchange for FT work w/ benefits) just turned us down. Kids today!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Shoot, Sparky, I'll take it.

Because books.

Seriously. Wow.

The tile guy keeps going out to the garage to cut tile, and every time he goes in and out, he slams the door. This is going to be such a long day.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I was thinking maybe alternating freestyle with breast stroke to start. I am tying to get in shape, basically, but I'm really out of shape at the moment.

Pix, when I started my swimming in January, I just began going at a sane pace for me and for as long as I could before I was beat. I alternated freestyle and backstroke, and began at 18 laps. Then, I just added two laps with every swim until I worked my way up to a mile (33 laps), and then started whittling the time down by not taking as many breaks and then figuring out ways to speed it up a bit. The speed came on its own, and the endurance just built up over the weeks.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Want to weep. I woke up in the middle of the night with stomach ache reminiscent of the hepatitis and sweating like a pig and shaking shaking shaking. It's calmed down to basically workable, so I'm in the office, but if something doesn't change in the next hour, I may go to urgent care. This bitch HURTS. And I don't want to do hepatitis again. But I haven't thrown up yet. Am avoiding solid food.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I am working from home today, since my workplace was cyberattacked on Friday.

Whoa. Were they after information?

I had completely missed the rise of hooping. I was pathetic with a hula hoop when I was young and agile.
