Natter 68: Bork Bork Bork
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
That is so scary, amych! I am glad there is not any great damage and you are both OK.
I keep getting off the sofa with thoughts of Doing Stuff, but it never seems to really take.
This is me. And I really have to find my keys this weekend or I am going to have to confess. And probably pay to install a new lock on my apartment, because apparently my landlord doesn't have a way to make a new key, just has a master key.
I did start a new to me John Irving book, and I got to read it inside this "fort" that my neighbor's grandons made in this giant bush in our yard. I have been wanting to get inside and read for so long, and they cleared it out and put chairs in it! I used to read outside sitting in trees as a kid, but this is like a little house made of branches, and gets s nice breeze.
I also watched a documentary on Hulu about discrimination against lesbian basketball players at Penn State. (It is really good and I recommend t, as it also deals with the power of the athletic departments in colleges as well as systemic discrimination for about 25 years by one coach) Then I started to watch the next LGBT docmentary on there, and t was produced by Penn State. Weird.

Well, I managed to mop the kitchen floor and run to Good Will and the grocery store. And now I'm back on the futon. It's too hot out there to do any yard work, but I have laundry I need to take off the line.
Then I might nap. Or read about zombies.
I've actually managed to be somewhat productive today, in between bouts of couch sitting. I've been to Target, the pet food store, and TJs, plus neatened the front room, done the litter boxes, taken out the trash and some recycling, paid bills and rent, and made a massage appointment for next week.
I was going to do research for my Hawaii trip, but I think it may be nap time instead.
Suela, I just got back from the East Bay in all its sweltery glory. Kitchen floor, Goodwill and groceries are more than enough for one day.
And, yup, definitely hitting NCR's inbox, no question. There's a former local journalist on staff there who's already written about the protests and will definitely be receptive.
Today I've only managed to lift weights, watch Wimbledon, and go for a 3.5 mile walk. Now I must go cook, for I am hungry.
Despite my sinuses trying to kill me, I have been to Santa Monica to meet the baby of friends. She is three months old and adorable. Her mom is Mongolian, and she had a super-chubby round cheeks which are a hallmark of those peeps. Then we did all our grocery shopping in the way home.
The rest of the day involves watching Battlestar Galactica. We are halfway through season three and loving it.
I've been to the farmer's market, ran a few chores, and then picked up Noodle from the adoption center. She is hiding under K-Bug's bed for now, so still no pictures.
We got a head of Chinese cabbage this week that was literally bigger than my head. I made salad (sesame oil, vinegar, red pepper, ginger), and now it's about the size of my head.
A 3.5 mile walk is not bad!
I got inspired after roommate was here cleaning his room (as his move-out thing). He asked if there was anything else besides his room and the bathroom that I was going to require him to clean, and I was very very tempted to say something along the lines of "Well you never picked up a broom, mop, dustcloth or sponge for the rest of the house, I guess I shouldn't hope now!" Sigh. Then I went ahead and cleaned the kitchen--hardcore--scrubbed down all the counters and the sink, the inside of the toaster oven and microwave, the top of the stove, swept and mopped.
...now if only I had energy to do that for the rest of the house!
