I was watching the end of Stage 1 of the Tour de France, and just 8 km from the end, there was a massive pileup which took about 75% of the riders out of the huge pack just behind the leaders. The pack included Contador and Andy Schrek, so they ended up nearly 2 minutes behind the stage winner, which could take them out of contention after only one stage. Some idiot of an observer was standing too far out in the road and got clipped by a rider, who swerved into the heart of the pack to avoid the rest of the fans.

One of the things I like is how the women are much less into the theatrics on the field. No rolling around and clutching themselves, the way the men do.
