I am such a morning person. I would also like to state publicly that staying with smonster is awesome - she has everything I need even though she only moved here 2 weeks ago.

Also, we are going to have lunch with Nora and Tom today and actually have a conversation (they were too busy at the event the other night). And I think i just decided to slope off my conference this afternoon and go to museums instead. And I ran into an old coworker who has an extra ticket for a conference cruise this evening. Yay New Orelans!

I am going to finish getting dressed and go do yardwork. Yes. Soon. By 9. That's a reasonable hour, right?

Totally reasonable!

I woke up early so I could work on my take-home final, which is due in 4 hours and 24 minutes. It's only three questions and a total of 2000 words, but it involves citations. Blah.

At least I'll be done for the summer after I email it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Awake. For work. Con call in five. At least I can do this from home.

Compassionately intolerant

I went to bed at 1 and woke up all stressed out at 4. Hit the street with Bartleby at 6:30 for an hour and a half walk all over the Hill. BE-U-Tiful weather.

Then home to make a flaxseed/apple pancake...so yummy.

Now, I should do something with the work I did in the middle of the night, but right now, I think I need a nap.

smonster, if there is ANYthing I can do to support your quitting process, I will gladly, gladly do it. Need a place to rant? You got it. Need white-knuckled fingers peeled carefully off a craving? You got it.

At the very least, I'll be vibing hard for your success.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I should really go to church (and the following neighborhood lunch), but I just can't bear it. Instead I'm going to futz with the new computer and do laundry. Maybe groceries, if going outside seems like a good idea....

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I'm sure I have it... around here... somewhere. Of course I may forget to give it to you, just silly little things like SHEETS. It's good to have flea here, even if we don't have the same body clock.

Con calls at 6 am for work on Sunday are punishable by special hell, surely.

Frankie and I just went for a brief romp in the park around the corner... which is not a dog park but there are no kids in the morning and I pick up after him AND any other poop I find, so... It's really weird, there's this pussycat of a Dobie named Josie and they take off romping, and then Frankie starts squealing, when she's not even touching him! Don't get it. Not sure what to do about it. Doesn't happen with other dogs.

bonny, thanks so much. I suspect getting rid of smoking-related materials and consciously building new habits is key.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Quiet morning here. Nova is in my lap, tenderizing my leg.

Teefury is Princess Bride today.

Messup on today's deployment, but not on our side. However, it does mean I'm not done working yet, sadly.

My cat is actually letting me work, which is rare for her, especially since I am currently surrounded by piles of papers on the floor. Normally, she'd be sprawled all over them, but she's instead sleeping on her condo. At least she's not sitting underfoot, meowing for attention.

I'm taking a Final Exam break. I have one question completed and another one halfway done. But, the long-form question (1000 words instead of 500) has yet to be tackled.

I think this might be a bit late, maybe done by 12:30 or 1 instead of 12:00. Oh, well, she's pretty easygoing and probably won't dock me for being less than an hour late with it. Then, I can go for my Sunday swim.
