No. And yes. It's always sudden.

Because books.

Our one house phone is actually plugged into a jack, so it's a land line, if that helps.

Coding and Sleeping

Harry Potter and Twilight toys collected for needy children because they're incompatible with the charity's Christian beliefs.

I assume they are opposed to casting spells and teenagers not having sex.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I assume they are opposed to casting spells and teenagers not having sex.

But not, apparently, shooting each other:

"I was told to withhold a six-inch Harry Potter figure, but when I picked up a plastic M-16, I was told, 'That's for the 10-year-olds,'" he said.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

But not, apparently, shooting each other

Well, the Bible's a lot clearer on Harry Potter than murder. Oh, wait.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have a makeup question! How do you get foundation to stay on your face? Like, my phone is covered in makeup now, and I often get it on huggees' clothes. Powder?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Verizon support is telling me to call a 1800 number to get support. Needless to say, I can't, from the landline. And I have another hour of con call on my cell that IM TRYING TO AVOID. Online chat won't let me open a ticket with her, and keeps saying I can do it online, but can't give me a URL.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Does mashed cauliflower taste as yucky as regular cauliflower? I have taste issues with that veggie, unlike broccoli, which I don't mind the taste of, but can't stand the texture of the seedy treetops (I like the stalks).

I'm not sure how useful my answer is, because I like cauliflower, but when I tried a mixture of about half potatoes and half cauliflower, the potatoes were the much stronger flavor, and I could just taste the cauliflower a little. (I used frozen cauliflower.)

If it's been an hour since DH told me he got an urgent call from daycare that Dylan smashed his finger in the bathroom door and needed to be picked up, and I haven't heard anything since, is it safe to assume they are NOT in the ER waiting on stitches or a broken bone?

HUSBAND, CALL ME.
