I did my Onerous Task earlier today! Which was take the phone call from the recruiter from my previous agency and say
"I'm already working with another agency about the vendor position. No, I am not prepared to discuss what hourly rate I want. Nope, I didn't sign a non-compete with your company."
That sort of phone call, before I've had any tea or coffee? Onerous, believe me.
But I also sent email to my current agency letting them know about the previous one, and answered an email from my (former and future) boss, giving her the contact info for my current recruiter.
sigh.
making a cake was supposd to be onerous because i 'm making it to say good bye to my book club kids. Not because I can't find the frigging recipe.
I did the dishes add-on to my onerous tasks. In about 10 minutes I'll be taking the cat to the vet for his annual check up, but that's more onerous for him than for me.
Official figures on bankruptcies calculate at least half of all US filings are due to medical bills.
I am working from home tomorrow and Friday, so that onerous task is out of the way.
I should take lunch.

I forget where I heard this (and what country it was) but someone European was saying that if
one
person went bankrupt in their country due to medical bills, it would be a huge scandal.

I've made some mistakes...none of which included luxuries...but it's the medical bills that are pushing me over the edge.
This is the LAST thing I want to do, and that is a fact.
I got coffee.
My onerous task is to badger HR again, and I just don't want to. They haven't replied yet to yesterday's passive-aggressive email.

There was a PBS special called Sick Around the World or something to that effect. I forget if it was Sweden or Japan that said that.
I'm thinking Sweden. I seem to recall it was a Scandinavian country.
