They are here, as is most plastic, even with food residue.

DC only takes 1 & 2 food containers and no paper with food residue like takeout bags and such. It's confusing and seemingly changes on a whim.

I'm super sensitive on this issue as a former bf was a pioneer in municipal recycling and drilled it into me that a tainted load is pretty much why 'recycling can't have nice things.' A huge part of it is a problem with consumer education and inconsistent requirements. But sometimes, it's just folks not paying attention, like this guy.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yup, lots of our food trash stuff is recyclable here because of the downcycling stream. I have a ton of recycling I need to sort, though, because while we were gone one of my bins blew open and scattered plastic bottles through our yard. Not the green effect I was going for. So I need to get everything sorted and actually off to the recyclers.

I have to make a trip to Flagstaff next week anyway, so I should see if I can do my major stuff while I'm there.

Oh boy. Onerous task number two has turned out badly.

The hospital has only reduced the bill by 50%, and there is no guarantee that the other providers will comply with the discount. I don't have it. If they gave me 20 years, maybe, but I can't imagine a payment plan that will work.

Also, the woman I spoke to said, "As for the other thing, that has been sent to the Risk Assessment department and I cannot comment on that."

I have no idea what that means. What can risk assessment do about the fact that they neglected to notify me that I had pneumonia?

It looks like I really need a lawyer. And a bankruptcy adviser.

Blergh.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I hope it all turns out okay, bonny. Medical bills are the shits.

Onerous task #1 is still in progress. Took me about 5 calls to NOT get a busy signal calling KCRW music tracking. Finally got in but I've been on hold for 40 min so far and haven't reached a person yet. (Music Tracking is when you call a station to see if they've added your album to their library and if it's gotten any airplay.)

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Got caught up here just in time for Onerous Task Day. Just finished my laundry, so that's one done. After finishing it, I sat down with my soup and computer, only to have my cat walk over and knock the bowl of soup on my sweat pants and carpet. Now I get to soak my pant leg and sock in some Tide-and-water to get the tomato soup off of them. Tonight I'll start working on cleaning out my chest of drawers.

Finally got a pick up around 56 min into holding. KCRW "didn't think it was for us". So...bummer.

well my mom came by and so the rest of onerous task kinda got derailed, but I have picked up mac + playdate from school, so now I am on more task duties.

- now folding laundry

And a bankruptcy adviser.

Bankruptcy can be a blessing. The judge at our hearing actually looked happy to be dealing with Hubby and me, because we weren't trying to scam our way to keeping two houses, a boat, and an extra SUV to pull the snowmobile trailer. We just wanted to get out from under over $100,000 in medical bills. (Though I did pay the bankruptcy filing fees with a credit card that had room on it that I knew was about to be erased.)
