Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

People. Hmmph.

This is what I'm saying. I just thought they didn't have teff!

Anyway, I am now preparing for a lazy day, except I'd better get cracking on Christmas shopping.

Yeah, I've got to bustle now. Market done, now pedicure. And clean up cat barf. Thanks, cats!

not your mom's socks.

We are taking the tent - it's never been opened. Hopefully will be ok.

You'll be fine. They take the tent, but you are allowed into the airport proper so you can all run around and get coffee. Safe travels!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Which Ethiopian place did you go to, Jesse? My favorite is Asmara. I was disappointed with the wheat injera at Addis Red Sea.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

For kids, definitely Manic Panic - it's just permanent enough to last until they get bored with it. (On my own head, I use Special Effects because I can go 6-8 weeks in between dye jobs. Manic Panic on me washes out in three or four days.)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

So, the Ethiopian place I went last night was delicious, except they didn't have real injera -- it must have been made with wheat. But partway through the meal, our waitress brought out some of the good stuff!

Anyone know where I could get the real, non-wheat injera? Preferably by mail order?

I thought Manic Panic was a permanent dye! Hm.

It was Addis Red Sea. So now you know they are just holding out!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Nope, Manic Panic is a temp dye.

Ah, I read two trashy books yesterday, and slept hard from midnight to 8 am. Lovely. Drinking coffee, and I plan on doing some laundry and working on unit plans and syllabi, going to Target and the grocery, then I am meeting an old student of mine who wants some tutoring for coffee.

Then to dinner and drinks for a close friends birthday. I have a pretty nice day planned.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Howdy!

Trying to work up the oomph to bike 8 mi to the LA Arboretum. CA Rare Fruit Growers chapter nearest me is having their bimonthly meeting. The distance is one thing but far more concerning is that instead of following Huntington Dr., which I know, Google Bike Maps is suggesting presumably safer routes but they're less direct. Lots of twists and turns. Which I don't trust myself with unless I've got a really good paper map and loads of time to get lost.

I figured I was up too late to wake up early to go but then my body woke me up anyway. The back of my throat was sticking together because I was so dry from the lack of humidity in the house.
